Laura Carly Miller is an actress, model, dancer and all round performance artist. She started her love of performing when she was five years old as a dancer. She danced competitively in all sorts of dance styles; Jazz, tap, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, ballroom, salsa, lindie hop, ballet, pointe and many more. After she graduated from Maple Ridge Secondary School she got accepted into Capilano Universities Acting for Stage and Screen Program where she did three years of acting training gaining her a diploma. She performed in many of the shows at Capilano; Dark of the Moon as Barbara Allen, Dancing at Lughnasa as Chris Mundy and Sly Fox as Mrs.Truckle. During that time she also accomplished another show Serenade by Soho Productions outside of school. Since graduation she has been performing in many short films, did a play at the Jericho Arts Centre, Closure directed by Bernard Cuffling and has been writing, producing and starring in a Beyond Theatre Original, The Support Group The Series.
Lily was born in England, finished high school in BC's interior, and brings plenty of her quirky foreign humour to everything she creates. Her years in British private schools gave her an excellent understanding of patience and organization which she finds a huge asset in the technical side of theatre production. Lily has been involved in creative pursuits since the age of 3, starring as Mary in the the nursery nativity play and then as various angels and sheep in following years. Throughout her life she has taken turns being behind and in front of the scenes, and enjoys both equally for the different insights they offer. Going to school for this creative passion is where she met Laura and Sydney who shared her desire to keep creating!
Sydney Doberstein started performing at a very early age. She joined the world of community theatre at the age of 13 when she landed her first lead role as ‘Charlotte’ in Charlotte’s Web. Sydney continued on the path of musical theatre for her high school years and eventually after travelling for 5 months post graduation, she decided Capilano University’s Acting for Stage & Screen was right for her.
While attending Capilano University Sydney was involved in many shows. One of her most favourite was Dancing at Lughnasa where she was extremely fortunate to play the role of ‘Rose Mundy’. Sydney has always participated in fine arts, whether it was singing, acting, writing, or directing… the artistic world has always played a large role in her life. Beyond Theatre is an exciting opportunity for Sydney and she couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of it. She looks forward to what the future may have in store for this new and upcoming theatre troupe.
